The Bride’s Rooom
This room is on the top floor and includes the most elegant french decor throughout. With a full drop, french ticking bedspread sprawled across a four poster black enamel bedstead, sprinkled with black and white toile linen pillows and coverlet, you will feel like you have been transported back in time. The bed is then complemented by an early nineteenth century hand carved, french rosewood, mirrored armoire that stands an impressive nine feet tall. You cannot help but to have a twirl in your dress in front of it.
It is spacious enough for you and your maids to prepare for your big day whilst enjoying some bubbly and there is a private ensuite for your convenience. The photo opportunities are timelessly elegant and infinite!
The Groom’s Library
The thirteen foot tall oak shelves throughout speak towards the home’s history and importance. It was decorated with the southern gentleman in mind with rich deep tones complimented by a few touches of blue to keep the room fresh and contemporary. The fireplace is the largest of the home, with a marble surround and original mantle which is then saluted by the antique Zoffoli globe bar which may be used by guests.
You are able to step out onto one of the attached 7 porches to enjoy a celebratory cigar or step out into the magnolia lawn to play a game of croquet.
There is an additional overflow bedroom that has an antique french armoire, another impressive fireplace as well as a full ensuite for your convenience.
The Parterre Gardens
The formal parterre gardens that welcome you to the estate are one of the reasons for it’s induction into the historical registry. There is a center allée leading up to the entrance of the plantation home with a round garden on one side, and a four square garden on the other. The parterres are filled with assorted flowering fauna such as gardenias, camellias, crepe myrtles and azaleas.
